Backing better mental health support for young people in Townsville starts with you.
You can help by signing on to the Community Campaign, posting on your socials, sharing my video to show Townsville is paying attention.
You can also attend a Community Campaign Corner to show your support in person.
Together, we can deliver the care our young people need.
By signing this community campaign, you give consent to be part of the Queensland Government consultation for this project.
Right now, too many young people in our region are falling through the cracks when it comes to mental health support.
We don’t have a dedicated local service that helps teenagers step out of crisis care and into long-term recovery. That gap puts pressure on families, on frontline workers, and on our hospital system.
Thuringowa needs a Youth Step Up Step Down facility. A safe place where young people can recover with the right support, close to home.
A Youth Step Up Step Down service is a short-term, residential facility that helps young people recover in the community, instead of being sent to hospital or left to cope alone.
It gives structure, clinical support and connection when it’s needed most. It works alongside local services and keeps families involved. Rockhampton is getting one.
Thuringowa should too.
If you believe in better local care for young people, I need your voice behind this.
Add your name below and help us send a clear message to the Minister for Health: Thuringowa is ready.
This is about doing the right thing for our region. Your support counts.
